Highway E600 HaloHinge manhole covers

Highway HaloHinge E600 has been specifically designed and produced to meet the advanced requirements of National Highways CD 534 v0.1.0. This product is ideal for group 4 applications. The Hinge and Lift Out mechanism allows the covers to be safely removed by using our unique safety keyways and standard BS 7903 lifting keys. Additionally, they can be hinged up to 100 degrees and securely locked, which promotes better safe working practices.

Hinge and Lift Out

HaloHinge boasts an innovative design. The covers are fully removable using standard BS 7903 lifting keys, but the covers can also hinge to 100 degrees, remaining captive within the frame and free from risk of accidental closure.

The hinges are located on the inside of the frame. This simple yet unique design allows for the infill surfaces to be compacted against the straight edges of the frame with ease, unlike other alternatives that have protruding hinges that are difficult to compact around. Compacting equipment over the hinge housing can apply destructive forces to the hinge housing and foundation, making inboard hinges a superior solution.

Moreover, the inboard hinges prevent hinge pockets from clogging with dirt and debris, ensuring that the hinges operate reliably and promote better health and safety. Additionally, Highway HaloHinge covers are compatible with GritBlocker, the anti-blockage keyway insert that provides unblocked keyways at every operation.

Retrofittable badging and antenna options

Unite* and Highway access covers are the only ranges on the UK market to include provisions for communications equipment, such as antennas, to be installed within the cover.

The ID bolt provision can be used for antennas, allowing communications equipment, such as water meter monitoring, to be installed within a chamber beneath a cover whilevproviding a strong signal above ground without the need to dig or adjust the surrounding road surface. Saving significant time, effort and money while minimising disruption.
